Meggie's officially a 1st grader!

Our baby is growing up!

Today Meghan officially graduated from kindergarten. She's so excited to be a first grader. What's so cool is her teacher will be Miss Zenteno, who she got to know 2 years ago when she was a typical peer in the autism preschool class. She LOVES her. It's going to be so great for her. Also, Miss Zenteno's dad, Dr. Zenteno, was one of Meghan's physicians when she was in the NICU at Sunrise. Small world.

This is all bittersweet. She's so happy to be bigger and I'm so sad that she's bigger. There have been lots of tears today, some from her because her new shoes were hurting her feet and she didn't want to participate in the ceremony, but mostly from me because I don't want her to grow up. She's our last kindergartener...our last baby. It's all happened so fast. Just yesterday she was our teeny, tiny, little 2-pounder we couldn't wait to get home and now she's an independant, strong-willed little girl who is so full of life.

I'll love you forever, I'll love you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be.

STOP GROWING MIGGIE MOO!
Stay my baby!

Complaining will get you nowhere...

I HAD to complain about nothing going on. The minute I did, SOMETHING started "going on"!

Two months ago my right knee started hurting for no apparent reason. Instead of getting better, the pain got worse. Two weeks ago I finally saw an orthopedist and figured he'd say I needed to lose some weight, give me an injection, and send me on my way. Instead, he sent me for an MRI (panic attack). I saw him today for the follow-up and I have a meniscal tear that needs surgery. GRRRR! Luckily, it's a simple procedure and will take my pain away, but...IT'S SURGERY! ACK!

Sooo, I figure I'll have it done after we get back from our trip the second week of July but the doctor says it should be done soon, AND he has an opening next Thursday morning, 6:00 a.m. GRRRR! IT'S SURGERY! ACK! and it's NEXT WEEK!

Good news is I'll be pain free and completely recovered to go on our trip. Yay!

GRRRR! IT'S SURGERY! ACK! and it's NEXT WEEK!

There's just nothing going on right now!

Wow. It's been a whole week since I've posted.
:::sigh:::
This is all I can come up with...

Two old ladies were attending a long church service.
One leaned over to the other and whispered "My butt's going to sleep."
"I know", whispered the other, "I heard it snore three times."

It started with a chair...

Mother's Day was SO GREAT! Part of "relaxing time" was getting to watch movies with my friend Jill! I went to Hollywood Video to rent Dan in Real Life and ended up grabbing a crap-load of flicks to catch up on!

It all started when I crawled in my chair...

Dan In Real Life...super great and is now one of my favorites. Steve Carell is SO great, ALWAYS.
Favorite line..."You are a murderer of LOVE!"

Juno...OMG, this is now my favorite movie ever that DOESN'T star Johnny Depp, and that's not a classic like Breakfast at Tiffany's! If you haven't seen Juno, watch it! It's hilarious, great, super bad, fantastic, tremendous...love, Love LOVED IT! Great music, too!
Favorite lines (if you can pick, there are so many)...Dwight from The Office playing Rollo: "That ain't no Etch-A-Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be un-did, Homeskillet."
Bren: "Somebody else is going to find a precious blessing from Jesus in this garbage dump of a situation. I friggin’ hope."

Once...I LOVE the music AND the fact that Falling Slowly won the Oscar for best song. This movie is SO cool. It's so sweet, and pure. The music is WONDERFUL!

Charlie Wilson's War...SO GREAT and interesting! Full of humor, too. I had no idea all that had gone on with Afghanistan and Russia, even though I remember hearing news stories about it. ERINHARRISON, you could have gotten some tips for your 80's party from this movie!

It ended in a chair and my week begins.

Women's Retreat

Thanks JESSICABALDWIN, my Ikea guru, for getting us to women's retreat!

I have to say, I have missed this annual weekend experience for the past 4 years, but didn't realize how much until going back this past weekend. Being with my friends, learning things about my marriage and children, getting right with God...all things you can learn about at home, yes, but something about being in the presense of Godly women at Murietta Hot Springs (which is heavenly) can't be duplicated (until the following year, at women's retreat, AT Murietta Hot Springs!).

This whole weekend was TOTALLY orchestrated by God (hmmm, imagine that). It all started with me sitting down at the dining room table about 3 weeks ago, around 1:00 a.m., to look through a home improvement magazine. I was looking for ideas to change my kitchen and came across an Ikea ad for a kitchen I totally want! I know my friend, JESSICABALDWIN, is an Ikea fanatic. We end up talking online about 4 days later about needing to go on a weekend trip, then Ikea comes up and I know the stores are in California. I ask her where the nearest one is, maybe we could make a weekend trip. Cornerstone's Women's Retreat somehow "pops" in to my head and I ask her if there's a store near Temecula. "OMG, YES!" It turns out retreat is in 2 weeks and there were still spaces available, so she signed us up. JESSICABALDWIN was teetering on not going to retreat, and I hadn't been in years, but God had other plans for us!

Thursday night before we left, I found out our other friend, SHONTELLBREWER, who I miss so much, was coming from Reno! I was so happy I almost peed my pants! Traveling with JESSICABALDWIN, SHONTELLBREWER, and my new friend, ERINHARRISON-BOARDMAN, was the greatest experience for me. They are all so fun and so tuned in to hearing God and giving advice, praying, and telling it like it is. I LOVE THEM! (even if they stole my car to go to Starbucks!)
This was the best weekend ever...lots of episodes of The Office, shopping at Ikea (OMG!), endless giggling, prayer, hearing from God, etc., etc. I terribly missed my friend, MELISSADAHIR, though. This is our first retreat without her :( She's on her own retreat with her family, back in Virginia. We love you, Mel.

I cherish my friends.
