I'm FINALLY Great!!!

Yay, I'm finally a great aunt! That makes my big brother a grandpa! Heh heh, he's WAY older than me...16 years to be exact. My nephew Ryan and his wife Sarahi had a beautiful baby boy, Kayden Alexander, on April 18th, 9:07 p.m., 7 lbs. 10 oz., 19 inches. Woohoo! I'm Great. I'm Great. I'mGreatI'mGreatI'mGreat.

Meghan's "Twin"

So many good things come in pairs,
Like ears and socks and panda bears.
But best of all are sets of twins,
with extra laughter, double grins.

Meghan LOVES her "Tall Friend", Karla. I've known her since she was 4 months old. Her mom Beth is my best friend. People always ask us if we're sisters because we resemble each other a bit. It's funny that her oldest and my youngest resemble each other, too. She looks and acts like Karla did when she was little. They even have the same build. Funny how things work.

The Kids

This teenager loves his family, likes to go to school, enjoys being seen with us, is never grouchy, and can't get enough family activities. NOT. He plays the guitar, rides dirt bikes, loves computer games, and likes to build with legos and duct tape...Ian, 15

This lovely child always does what she's told, keeps her room spotless, and never talks back (heh heh). She plays the bass, likes to paint, draw and read, ride dirt bikes, loves Sailor Moon, Garfield, and Jack Skellington...Olivia, 12

This child absolutely loves school (lie) and eats anything without complaining (another lie). He plays the drums, loves soccer, roller blading, dirt bikes, video games and Sonic the Hedgehog...Max, 9

This is our 2-pound miracle. While all children are miracles, it truly is a miracle that she's here. What a spitfire! She likes school, playing with friends, dance class, blowing bubbles, dirt bikes, Angelina Ballerina, and playing Candy Land...Meghan, 5

The Royal Tenenbaums

Today began like any other day. The birds were singing, the brook that runs by my open bedroom window was babbling, the gentle breeze was softly blowing the curtains as the church bell tolled in the distance, and the mice were singing Cinderellee, Cinderellee softly in my ear. As I gently stretched and glamorously rose off of my satin pillow reality quickly set in. There was no castle and the babbling brook was actually the screeching sounds of my children, arguing at the top of their lungs, unsuccessful at their attempts to kill each other, AGAIN. It was a scene straight from Everybody Loves Raymond and, instead of Prince Charming laying next to me it was more like Ray saying to Debra, "honey, can you check on the kids?".

Oh, the life of a princess.
It is I, SuperMom, aka the Mother of ALL Evils. Don't get me wrong, my children love me, they just don't like me all the time. Today it was because they had to clean their rooms AND themselves. Tomorrow because I'll make them get up for school, put on clean underwear, eat breakfast and brush their teeth.

I keep reminding myself that someday they'll thank me.
