Where Does The Time Go?

Jon turned 50 last week...EXCELLENT surprise party was pulled off on Saturday (I'll post pics this week).
Max turned 11 yesterday.
Ian turns 17 today.

Where has the time gone? I swear it was just a couple years ago that we found out I was PREGNANT with Ian. I remember thinking when he was born that we will have YEARS before he's graduating high school, going to college, getting married, having his own kids. All we did was go to bed one night 17 years ago and woke up to find it yesterday morning. It was only ONE night! I must have dreamt all the school plays, soccer games, trips to Disneyland, etc., etc. because it all happened too fast! He CAN'T be 17 already. In my mind he's still the cuddly little boy that needs me ALL the time, willing to give his "magic hugs"...not a 6 foot 2 inch young man that wears a size 15+ shoe, requests food with a grunt and barely keeps his room clean!

Now Max, on the other hand, still needs me. He's starting to pull away just a bit here and there, but then realizes just in the nick of time and comes back for all the gushy mother love stuff. I think he'll always be that way. I hope he'll always be that way. Time has sped forward with him, too. This curly haired pic of him at 2-years-old is still how he looks in my mind. The sweet little boy that clings to his mommy's leg and wants to hug a million times before he lets go to play with a friend.

They're both the best boys. I'm so proud of them and I love them so much. I don't ever want them to leave! Happy birthday my not-so-little men. You mean the world to me!

He's 50 and Lovin It!

The immortal words of Sally O'Malley..."I'm 50 years old! And I like to kick! Stretch! And kick!"...say it all. Today, March 20th, Jon turns 50. Remember when we were in elementary school and we thought people that were 30 were old and people that were 50 were almost dead? (snicker) Well, thankfully Jon is FAR from dead. Happy birthday, dear. Thank you for being such a great provider, wonderful husband and father, and thanks for staying with us this past summer! Oh, and happy birthday to the boys!
